PENNANTS 2016
Marrickville BC intend to enter two sides in the Pennant competition for 2016. Last year in Zone 11 there were two sides, one in Grade 3 and one in Grade 5. In 2016, Zone 11 has been combined with Zone 13 to be known as Zone 13 - Central and Southern Sydney.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2015
TRIPLES
The final of the club triples turned out to be a tense and exciting affair. Peter Maughan's team started the better and gradually built a useful lead of 5 - 16 after about 11 ends. Phil Wright's team slowly narrowed the gap and surprisingly lead for the first time in the match 22 - 21 after 21 ends. Peter's team scored 4 shots in the next 3 ends to lead 22 - 25 with 1 end to play. Phil's team were able to manufacture the 3 shots required to send the match into an extra end, which they won scoring 2 shots.
Winners: Peter Lange, Billy Goodall, Phil Wright
Runners up: Graham Richards, Ben Whipp, Peter Maughan

PAIRS
The Pairs event was won by Phil Wright and Phil Means for the second time beating Graham Richards and Dermot Minihan, 23-14. The two Phils had a close match in the semi-final beating Ian Sharp and Steve Johnston 19-15. Dermot has now been in three finals this year. MAJOR SINGLES
There is a new name on the honours board for 2015. Peter Lange is the Major Singles winner. Both Ben Whipp and Peter Lange had previously been losing finalists in the singles and were determined to go one better. Peter has been in good form all season and is a worthy winner. He got off to a good start and was able to stay out in front winning 31-20. Winner: Peter Lange Runner up: Ben Whipp |
MINOR SINGLES
Dermot was appearing in the final for the first time, and Phil for the second time. The blustery conditions affected both players who struggled for consistency. Dermot coped better early on and led 14-23. Phil was able to get back into the match and held on to win 31-28. Winner: Phil Wright Runner up: Dermot Minihan |
FOURS
After a nervy start by both teams, the match became a tight and tense affair with some spectacular bowling in the last few ends. Jason Petersen's team were 1 shot up going in to the last end. Peter Maughan's team quickly had the 2 shots required and were just able to defend them, winning 17-16.

Runners up: Ron Cook, Peter Lange, Dermot Minihan, Jason Petersen
